Prof. Dr. Judith Christiane Schneider is a Professor of Insurance and Risk at Leibniz Universität Hannover and a member of the House of Insurance. Previously, she was a Professor of Finance at Leuphana University Lüneburg and an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Münster. Judith C. Schneider earned her doctorate at the University of Duisburg-Essen and studied Economics at the University of Bonn. Her research focuses on issues of risk management, particularly those related to robustness. Her research also addresses behavioral economics questions, such as that of risk perception, economic preferences, and the salience of information in financial decisions. Additionally, she explores issues related to household financial decisions, such as the role of emotions in investment decisions. These questions are often answered using models, statistical methods for financial market data, and economic experiments. She has been a visiting scholar at the University of Technology Sydney, INSEAD in Fontainebleau, and the California Institute of Technology. She is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Risk and Insurance. Her work is published in leading international journals such as Management Science, Operations Research, Review of Financial Studies, and the Journal of Risk and Insurance.
