One research focus is on behavioral insurance, in which the assumption of rational decision makers is questioned and supplemented by psychological findings. Additionally, quantitative risk assessment in the insurance context plays a central role in the research. The research projects use large data sets as well as experimental research methods. In terms of content, research also focuses on private financial and insurance actors, who have to take a large number of complex decisions in today's society, such as pension provision, health insurance, climate protection. The explicit goal here is to also support political decisions, such as regulation.
